31 OCT 2009The InquisitionSince we play both sides, the Inquisition is a loyal opposition that performs quality control. It provides a conflict model to make a game: the old order versus new radicals. The Inquisition raises our awareness of The Serious One who silently rules our lives, now given voice and exposed. If we are 90% serious, the Inquisition may dominate the game, seize most of our funny money and turn it into time dollars. Then we have to work it off. The dominant economy is a serious productive economy run by the Inquisition, modeling the real world. Heretics have to work all the harder to break away and create their funny money economy. Making their world funny is the only way to escape. Funny world will be a challenge and an ideal for a long time before it takes off. The skeptics and scoffers will predominate. I used to think they were a problem holding me back, and I could never make funny world good enough to get past that. Now I see that I can embrace them, and build a movement against funny world, which will then inevitably raise a greater interest in funny world.
