In the Aquarian stage, we're still subject to the serious world, and Aquarius works within its tolerance. Spirit's energy is subjugated, but funny gives a lot more scope. We're not ready for unlimited spiritual power yet, so we keep it down. Of course the spiritual goodies are the point. And this is the game we have to play to get them. On the level of human personality, this is the highest game we can play. Even though we know there are higher goals, we can't say so. That would ruin the game. This leads to a total belief in pursuing funny, even though we know there is higher than funny. It's an instrumental belief, since it is the way to bring in the energy. And most religions follow a similar model: Do these things, believe these things, and you will be blessed. And we will fight for these things in the world, because of the spiritual energy they provide. Of course then you have religious wars. The point is, we can't afford
to take this energy seriously, even though it is the point. Serious
people would mine it like a scarce resource. But it's an infinite
resource, and our problem is keeping a lid on it. Funny people
can get away with releasing a lot more of it, so the focus on
funny is best strategy. |
