Declare the joke?
What we need to move ahead is a new set of lies. Funny, yes, but it states the joke. It breaks out of the deadpan recitation of lies. Disbelief is required, I said, and that's a funny reversal, but it declares our whole construction invalid.

Duplicity is funny, so I think we can embrace both approaches. There is no conflict. Declaring the joke is necessary because people try to take mbf seriously. It's funnier to declare a hoax, a con game, an elaborate fraud.
